Day 3 – Iguana Island
We were up bright and early this morning to venture off onto the deep blue sea, bound for Iguana Island. Weirdly we only saw a couple iguanas all day, I guess they heard we were coming and sent a bazillion hermit crabs to scare us off. Little did they know that we laugh in the face of hermit crabs, except the one in the picture, he was a little scary.
Two of us did some hardcore snorkeling, I bet you can guess which two, and two of them sat on the beach looking at their phones. Cal and I found Dori but Nemo was a no show. Cal will be doing some research to figure out what fish we actually saw later for his weekly science project. My favourite was the Sand Snake Eel who looked like, you guessed it, a sand coloured eel that looked like a snake. Or a snake that looked like an eel, either way he wouldn’t pose for a pic. Cal liked the blue one with white spots which may or may not have been a puffer. Jury is still out on that one.
We ate so much fresh fruit that we forgot about the sun, so at least one of us will be paying for their choices with a poor night’s sleep (Mom).
The clear stars of the day were the dolphins though. Whether you believe that they were curious and came to say hi or that they were just trying to breathe is up to you, we were just glad they came.
We rounded out the day by finding the place where Carnivale floats go to die. Sad but nothing lasts forever after all.
Cal retired to the front porch hammock and showed the gecko The Simpsons. Thanks Callum, now that Gecko will never leave.
Only 3 dogs today, no chickens. I hope they are ok….

Good morning,
Snow has finally stopped and we are headed for a high of 4+.. Can you say “heatwave”?
Looks like you had a fun day, however, isn’t it ironic that you took a boat ride to see lizards then came and found them on your porch. Your father says he would love to have done the snorkeling with you and I will admit to wanting to stay with the other group. (Book instead of phone)
Glad you are having a good time and can’t wait to see more.
